1/35 USMC UH-1Y Venom Academy 12138 Excludes all glues, paints and tools necessary to assemble. Bell UH-1Y Venom is a modern American multi-role fixed landing gear helicopter in a classic arrangement with a main rotor and a tail rotor on the beam. The drive is provided by two General Electric T700-GE-401C engines with a maximum power of 1,828 HP each. The flight of the first prototype took place in 2001, and production started in the same year. The machine is 17.78 meters long with a rotor diameter of 14.88 meters. The Bell UH-1Y Venom was designed and put into production to replace the UH-1N machines in line in the US Marine Corps. Initially, the new Venom helicopters were created as a modernization of these machines, but in 2005 the production of factory-new UH-1Y Venom helicopters started. It is worth adding that the UH-1Y belongs to the Huey helicopter family, but in relation to its ancestor from the Vietnam War, it is actually a completely different aircraft, which has different engines, completely different avionics, relatively many of its elements are made of composite materials, also much more perfect internal installations or much better performance. Currently, the main user of Bell UH-1Y Venom machines is the US Marine Corps, but they are also exported to the Czech Republic.
