My house was built in 1962, so my sewer pipe is cast iron. I replaced the original toilet with excellent, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Toto drake toilets (seriously, the toilets are amazing, low flow but never backed up or had a problem, huge water surface area so poop will never stick and the porcelain casting is very high precision, so it’s easy to maintain). I bought the toilets from home depot though, so I won’t review them here on amazon. Back to the toilet screws, my original toilet screws were rusty and while they still held, I was more than happy to replace them. I couldn’t find a long enough toilet screws in local big box or small hardware stores, so ordered these. They came quickly and were a perfect replacement for my old screws. The toilet installed quickly and painlessly (a previous owner replaced the original tile with linoleum so I had to shim the heck out of the toilets though. The toilet screws will fit the job. It’d be nice to get solid brass screws but I’m sure the brass plating will last for many years, hopefully longer than me.
