CUL/WED We’re really excited to indroduce our new 9ct gold Cuillin Ridge wedding rings! Over the years of making our popular Cuillin Ridge rings, we’ve been aware that lots of you have wanted this design (which we usually make in silver) for your wedding rings but they haven’t been quite right for your wedding. Sometimes the price to make them in gold has been too much – which we totally understand. For some of you, the width & chunkiness of the bands hasn’t been for you. So, here is our solution! This option is narrower and feels much slimmer so it’s really comfortable. The slimmer profile & width of our new version also means that they can be worn with a classic women’s engagement ring. (Our original design is a stand alone design!)Because it’s not so chunky, it’s a considerably lower price point than our original Cuillin rings in gold. Our original Cuillin design requires so much metal that the price in gold is high end. It is super special so we still absolutely think it’s worth it if the budget allows, but these are much more budget friendly. We’re offering this design in two width options. 4mm & 5mm. The 4mm (narrower option) is photographed on Bryony’s hand. The 5mm (wider option) is photographed on Paul’s hand but there is, of course, no reason why a gent couldn’t opt for a narrower ring and the other way around. Although you are only able to select this new design up to certain sizes from the drop-down selection at the moment, we can make them in any size. If you require a larger size, please just get in touch with us for a price. In the meantime, we are working on pricing for larger sizes and will add those to our listing soon. For this new design, we will be offering it in white gold and rose gold, in 18ct as well as 9ct, and also in platinum. We are aiming to add pricing for these options soon. So there are, honestly, a couple of downsides to our solution! One thing we pride ourselves on here at Love from Skye is guiding our customers through their choice and explaining longevity of a design and material choices. We apply textures to our original Cuillin ring design and also mix the metals. However, we can’t do that with this option (due to the simplified making process – these ones were made in a different way). Because this new version is not as chunky in depth, we can’t engrave the mountain ridge really deep. This means that there is a chance that in years to come, or if you’re really hard on them, you’ll need us to re-engrave the Cuillin Ridge. These rings are still much more substantial than lots of rings on the market – they are not lightweight by any means. But it is only possible to engrave to a certain depth. (The ridges on our original Cuillin rings aren’t actually achieved by engraving so they’re super deep but that’s a whole other process to explain and this description is getting a bit long & complicated already!!)With silver being the softest of the precious metals, we don’t offer this version in silver. If our customers are opting for silver then we believe it’s important to opt for the hardier design.
